These barrels are made from Mongolian Oak from China. This is the same species (Quercus crispula) as Mizunara growing in Japan, but has a noticeably different appearance. We will give flavor profile notes once we have experimented with this new variety. We offer Japanese Mizunara Oak barrels separately.
